Writing to Be Published for the Social Sciences and Humanities

In this workshop participants aim to complete and polish a draft of a submittable article, chapter or other texts, such as a proposal. Participants examine features of effective academic writing, and apply these to turn their own raw materials and work-in-progress into convincing texts that balance complexity and clarity, elegance and rigour, rhetoric and logic. Extensive feedback from peers and the lecturer aid authors in improving the quality of their output, thereby enhancing its chances of success.

Participation in this tailor-made course – designed in collaboration with the Vice Rectorate Research – is subject to adequate levels in writing as proven in a writing task before commencement of the workshop.

Course dates: 2 October, 16 October, 30 October, 13 November, 27 November and 11 December.
